The 04D method — Discover, Design, Develop, Deliver
Four phases, each with its deliverable and approval gate. Why it works from a logo to a multi-platform app.
Most studios sell hours. We sell phases. Four of them, each with one deliverable, one approval gate, and one chance to pivot before the next phase begins.
Discover
Before a pixel exists, we map what the client actually sells, who buys it, and what would make the next purchase easier. The deliverable is a short brief — five pages, max — and a list of decisions the client owes us before Design starts.
Design
We design one direction, not three. Three options is a sales tactic; one option is a creative position. If the client disagrees with the position, we revise — but we never ship work we don't believe in.
Develop
Code follows design, not the other way around. Components are built once, in the studio's own system, and reused across the project. There is no "design handoff" because design and development are the same table.
Deliver
Launch is a deliverable, not an event. We ship in the morning, watch analytics for the first week, and iterate one final pass based on what real users do. Then we hand the keys to the client.
