The challenge

Too dependent on Booking and Expedia

Marina Real took 78% of its bookings through OTAs, paying 18–22% commissions with no direct guest relationship. The visual brand was generic, the old site wasn't bilingual or mobile-first, and there was no in-house booking flow. They wanted to recover margin and build a direct relationship with Caribbean and North American guests.

The approach

Brand, site, and bookings as one system

  1. 01

    Audit and positioning

    Three weeks of interviews with the team, returning guests, and local operators. We identified the angle: it isn't a resort, it's a Caribbean home with service. Branding flowed from there.

  2. 02

    Visual system + bilingual voice

    New identity, type system, palette inspired by coral and colonial tile, and a tone of voice that reads identically in Spanish and English without feeling translated.

  3. 03

    Site + in-house booking engine

    Next.js + direct PMS integration. The booking engine lives on the hotel's domain — no third-party redirects, no extra commissions.
